Community engagement and philanthropy are core components of Huber’s culture. Huber family members, employees and the Board devote their time and energy to causes that are important to them.
Huber is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate. The Huber Helps community engagement program strengthens our longstanding heritage of giving back and includes initiatives to:
- Protect and preserve the earth’s resources
- Provide support for local education and wellness programs
- Participate in affordable housing initiatives
- Donate products and funds for humanitarian causes
What Huber means to our communities
Protecting the planet
Huber understands the importance of finding a balance between developing land for products used in daily life and the need to sustain and protect the land for future generations. Huber has donated parcels of timberland with significant ecological value to many conservation organizations.
We also devote time, money and effort to protect and preserve the ecosystems in the areas surrounding our facilities, as well as in the local communities in which we operate, such as helping to clean up parks and nature preserves.
Opportunities for education and growth
Huber invests in the future through education. In the US, Huber matches all gifts that employees make to educational institutions up to $10,000. Around the world, many Huber locations donate equipment and supplies to local schools. Several Huber facilities have also offered grants and scholarships to local students studying science, chemistry and math.
Housing for families in need
Huber is a partner and sponsor of Habitat for Humanity. This relationship provides opportunities for Huber employees to volunteer for local house building activities organized by Habitat for Humanity affiliates around the globe. Huber also donates products to the Gary Sinise Foundation for specially adapted smart homes through their R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program for wounded service members.
Humanitarian and relief efforts
Huber businesses and employees have contributed money and donations to areas hit by natural disasters. In many cases, Huber will make an initial donation and then make a second donation that matches employee contributions.
Huber is also very active at local levels. Employees at numerous locations are encouraged to volunteer with coworkers for local community charities and initiatives. Local plants organize group volunteer opportunities for team building and community outreach including food and clothing drives for local homeless shelters.
